At Something Different Wholesale we are conscious of our impact on the planet. Recent television documentaries have inspired a culture shift which has brought the war against plastic to the forefront of our minds. We are only too aware that our beautiful oceans are awash with plastic and horrified that over 18 million tonnes of waste are thrown away in the UK each year, much of which is unrecyclable or non-biodegradable. Our legacy for generations to come.

Thanks to education and social awareness, we are all making a conscious effort to ‘do our bit’ in our homes, recycling our waste where we can and considering our plastic use, but what about businesses and the places we work?

At Something Different Wholesale we already make a conscious effort to use biodegradable bubble wrap and recycled cardboard in our packaging. We continuously work with our suppliers to educate them on environmental impact and support them as they review how they pack our goods using less plastic and more sustainable material.

But what about our products? Amongst our vast product range we already have a handful of items which are made from sustainable material but we have realised that we have a big opportunity to improve on this. We want to introduce a sustainable product range that has been created from recyclable material. A product range that reuses materials to create beautiful gifts in eye-catching designs.

Introducing Toucan Gifts - “Stylish giftware designed with our planet in mind using eco-friendly materials and ideas.”

We’ve been inspired to design a new generation of giftware that is consciously created to reduce waste by using materials which are sustainable, biodegradable or upcycled from other products which would otherwise end up in landfill and the ocean.

Under our new Toucan Gifts brand, we have created lunch bags and shoppers from recycled plastic bottles, we have developed a fun cutlery range from sustainable bamboo and introduced natural soy wax fragranced melts. And this is just the beginning. Our range is growing with new ideas every day.

We have exciting product development underway, all focused on eco-friendly gifts for all ages. We want to make a difference and you Tou-can make a difference through educating your customers on the benefits of eco-friendly giftware that aims to preserve and protect the planet for future generations to come.

Our new eco range will be launched at Autumn Fair 1-4th September, NEC.
