Recycle Week, created by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme), will run from 14th to 20th October 2024. WRAP is an organisation that help others use resources more efficiently and sustainably through upcycling. The theme for this year is ‘Rescue Me’ focusing on rescuing recyclable items from heading to the rubbish bin.

We’re proud to share the steps we’ve taken to support sustainability and reduce environmental impact. At Something Different, we’ve committed to improving our operations, both in the office and in the way we package and deliver your orders.

    Recycling Waste

Sustainability is a team effort at our Head Office, with all staff actively participating in recycling their waste. From paper and cardboard to plastic and glass, everyone plays a role in separating recyclables from general waste. We encourage every team member to contribute towards our collective effort in reducing landfill waste for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

    Order Packaging

     Fully Recyclable Order Packaging

We promote eco-conscious practices in packaging by replacing plastic bubble wrap with Eco Hex wrapping paper, a fully recyclable and reusable material! The hexagon cells interlock together to provide effective cushioning and protection for our wide range of products during transit, ensuring they arrive safely while prioritising sustainability. It does not require tape or glue to seal the package due to its unique design. Furthermore, your orders are packaged in cardboard boxes to ensure that all packaging can be reused or recycled.

    Product Packaging

    Cardboard Product Packaging

We have eliminated plastic from our product packaging, opting instead for 100% fully recyclable cardboard. This eco-friendly choice not only reduces plastic waste and helps reduce carbon footprint, but also ensures that our packaging is easily recyclable while maintaining the quality and protection of our products. We also use Hex Wrap in our packaging for ceramics as an alternative to polystyrene. Here’s an example of how we improved our  Queen Bee Ceramic Mug and Coaster Set.

Small changes can make a big difference! Let’s work together to make recycling second nature and take steps towards protecting our planet.
