Our Story

At Something Different Wholesale we design, develop and distribute quality gifts and homeware to retailers of all sizes across the UK, Europe and the world.

Our talented team of in-house creatives design and develop over 1000 products per year, exclusive to Something Different Wholesale. We work with thousands of customers from online retailers to large buying groups, international distributors and independent gift shops.

Established by our CEO Jane Wallace-Jones, Something Different began life as a humble car boot sale in 1990. Something Different quickly grew into the world of daily markets and occupied several units across South Wales.

Jane soon developed an interest in becoming a wholesaler and in 1999 she took on a 5,000 square foot warehouse in Baglan. The model focused on buying in bulk from other importers and manufacturers, holding it in the warehouse which would then supply her chain of market stalls while offering cash and carry to local customers. Something Different went digital in 1999 with the launch of a website, becoming the first ecommerce business in its field.

International imports began in 2005 to source unique, cultural giftware products further afield. In 2012, we started designing our own unique giftware products with exclusive designs. Our brands were launched to support the new product lines.

Today we are recognised as one of the largest giftware importers in the UK, stocking over 3000 products and supplying over 25,000 customers worldwide.
